As many of you are aware today is Thanksgiving for us Canadians! So let me start by wishing everyone a Happy Gobble Gobble!! Now, I had my dinner on Sunday so we all had a day to recuperate from the turkey Overdose!lol! Funny thing is for hours you cook in the kitchen preparing a great meal and then you clean it for the next several hours!!! It seems that as technology advances no one has been able to come up with gadgets to make entertaining easier and quicker with the times. Our portable walkmans from the 1980's are small little Ipods or MP3 players. Yet, not one single genius has come up with an easier way to make a dinner feast? WOW! Technology should evolve a little bit more towards the kitchen and the bathroom and the laundry, the list could be endless!! I guess someday maybe my grandchildren will get that type of technology. Either way, I find it comical that we now have 3D televisions and laptops the size of novels and nothing further developed in the kitchen. Ron Popeil has made great inventions but nothing I personally would want. lol. You can bet the person who invented the Bounce dryer bar knew that it would sell. Think of it as a dryer sheet you forget about and replace once every couple months. That saves on lint sheets all over the place and my time and energy remembering to put them in the dryer. With any luck someone will put their thinking cap on and remember that I said we need help in the kitchen! Oh right, almost forgot about the dishwasher. What the hell is the point? You practically wash them before we put them in and almost always need to dry them when they come out! We need someone to invent like the technology of the Jetsons, Hanna Barbara cartoon! We can have food is seconds and haircut machines, with robot maids etc……Now that the turkey is wearing off from yesterday I must get to my homework assignment. I have been putting it off all week-end and must get to it immediately. Have a great week and i wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
September has wrapped up and October is now here. This week-end the temperatures in southern Ontario, dipped low. I woke up this morning and wowza’s!! Food festival is on this week-end in Welland so lucky people that went yesterday got a great day and sunshine! Today, the rain and the chilliness is making it a blah rainny day. It seems to me that this year we finish with seasons abruptly and quite frigid too.lol.Even from spring to summer was intense and the humidity, high temperatures and smog. Summer to fall is just as crazy! Now I am sitting in my home contemplating lighting the pilot light on the furnace because its that chilly. I also noticed the other day that more and more of my fellow college students are becoming ill. Its the beginning of the school year, I can’t get sick! Not now or ever this year! I graduate this year and need to attend as much as I can!!! Now I must approach every one at school like they have the plague in order to keep bacteria at bay.(Just kidding). Now in just a couple of weeks, Halloween will be here and the POW!, November is right in your face! Then midterms are just finishing up and then BANG! You guessed it, Christmas is here!! I think I may be getting a little carried away but again that’s why it’s a blog of my rants!lol. So, I wish you all a great Thanksgiving next week-end(Canadian) and hope everyone is having fun and living life to the fullest!
I AM SO EXCITED THAT THERE FINALLY IS A VIDEO TO GO TO THIS AMAZING SONG! ANYONE WHO HAS GONE THROUGH THIS TYPE OF RELATIONSHIP CAN RELATE TO THE SONG! I HAD TO SHARE IT WITH ALL OF MY FELLOW BLOGGERS/READERS. HAVE A GREAT THURSDAY!!
Whether you are shopping for yourself, your children or siblings back to school is pure mayhem!!I have been paying attention to ads, flyers, etc.. for "Back to School" sales and promos. The only problem is there are only flyers for major department stores. The newest fad in fashion seems to be aimed at "skaterwear". What I mean by that is clothing that skaters wear (like Tony Hawk). When watching X games and so on kids see the participants wearing expensive clothing(surely they did not buy it, the clothes are given to them to advertise to the viewers and get people shopping for their brands). I am sorry but a backpack for back to school should not cost $50.00 to 60.00 dollars plus taxes!! That's insane! I can understand certain brand names cost more but it seems the pricing is a bit Hollywood. What parents can afford to buy that? Ok, I guess if both parents work $80,000/year jobs and only have 1 child, then that's not too bad. However, with 3 children, that comes to 150.00 dollars before taxes for BACKPACKS????I don't think so!! If I allow this I am only looking at a future of $200/jeans per child as well!! So I guess this year will be the last year I buy back to school clothes for the teens. If they want the expensive clothes, I GUESS THEY WILL NEED TO GET A JOB TO BUY THEM!!As for my youngest child, they do not seem to mind the name brands(or lack of) on their clothing. So for now I leave you with this. I will continue to find the deals on the name brands and put away for Birthdays and holidays. I guess this is the end of my rant….for now.
Apparently just watching this 3D TV cures you! Well, I had a hard time trying to watch the 48 seconds of video! I have a huge fear of spiders and personally(even though it is not in 3D when I watched it) I didn't have the courage to watch anything past the hairy tarantula! Check it out for yourself and tell me what you think!

This Summer is did my co-op placement at Skills for Success Niagara. They are a non profit organization strictly funded by the Regional Municipality of Niagara. They offer a 3 week program for Customer Service/communication Skills Employment Program. It is a program that teaches basics computer skills. They use the most current computer programs. Once the program is finished they are given follow up assistance. If they need help with interview prep, cover letters, faxing, job searching etc… Each individual has one on one time with the counselors. This enables them to be able to do mock interviews in preparation for the real thing! The participants also receive their WHIMIS training(free of charge through the St.Catharines YMCA program). Currently the agency has a 88% success rate. What I mean by that is that of all graduates 88% retained and secured employment. The agency focuses on job search for each participant based on their past experience and skills learned. I really enjoyed working there and I still continue to volunteer my time. Due to funding cuts this past year the agency is looking for partnerships with other agencies. Want more Information? http://www.skillsforsuccessniagara.com
Hello and Happy August!! After reading many comments it seems to that there are some things I need to clarify. So, here goes. If you wish to add my RSS feed, here is what you must do. On my home page you can right click in address bar(for fire fox/I.E users) and add RSS feed. Both Internet Explorer and Firefox have RSS adders. Google Chrome has Google reader. However, if you wish to only see the feed from a specific blog or subject, do the same as above but on the exact blog page. Make sense? On my home page on the right hand side there are 2 different feeds to choose from. One is for the comments feed the other feed is for each new post added. Pick which one you want and click on it. The link will be http://slicksrants.medaguru.com/?feed=rss2
For those who do leave comments, thank you so much! I love reading them and posting them. However, I am sure you have noticed it takes some time for them to be posted. Well, let me explain. Many people on the interent are signing up adding comments every 1 or 2 minutes to my blog. These are spammers and I don't want them cluttering up my site! So, I carefully screen my comments to ensure no garbage gets out there! So, if you ask a question in the comments I will answer, it just make take a day or two. Currently trying to get the reply time down to 24-48 hours. If there is anything else you would like to know, simply ask. Some members have asked if they can use part of my blog for their blog/website. Sure you can, just please make sure to indicate that it is from my site. That's all I ask. If you would like more information in regards to working together online or with sites, again please ask. I hope that your summer is coming along great. Keep on reading and Have a Safe and Happy Summer!!
