I am loving all the different twists and turns developing on every single different show I have been watching on T.V. To Tell you the truth, from 8pm-11 Monday through Friday I do watch a fair bit of television. Your average things like blacklists, deaths, births, originals, Kings, Queens, paranormals of vampires, supernatural(s) such as witches, goblins, fairies, it is all elementary in Neverland.(and Hollywood)!!lol!!! I do not know what to expect any more on my regular shows because of these crazy sweeps. One minute your laughing your ass off, literally and the next minute bawling!! In case you don’t know what sweeps is, I will explain quickly. This was taken from the Wikki website only for the purpose of a definition. (Nielsen ratings are the audience measurement systems developed by the Nielsen Company, in an effort to determine the audience size and composition of television programming in the United States. Nielsen Media Research was founded by Arthur Nielsen, who was a market analyst whose career had begun in the 1920s with brand advertising analysis and expanded into radio market analysis during the 1930s, culminating in Nielsen ratings of radio programming, which was meant to provide statistics as to the markets of radio shows. In 1950, Nielsen moved to television, developing a ratings system using the methods he and his company had developed for radio. That method has since become the primary source of audience measurement information in the television industry around the world.) Not that the ratings actually make any sense, nor do they portray a real sense of how many people are watching these shows and where and when and it is via TV, mobile or internet??? I have lost too many shows and if you read my previous posts on my blog you know how much I hate it when they cancel a show I got interested in because of lack of viewers. Does that also include people that PVR and record their shows to watch another time?? Sorry, that rant is over now. lol. Now that we know what the sweeps are we can move on. Funny thing too with Neverland and Once Upon a Time is that I do not normally watch this and Sunday night’s I really do not have any planned T.V. so it get’s watched lol. Tonight, at 8p.m. on M3 on Cogeco Cable I will be watching the newest of my addictions, Reign. A story line based loosly on characters from Queen Mary of Scott’s time and King Henry and gave it a CW twist!!! I love it! Naturally, I would as I love so many shows on the CW network. We here in Canada, do not get that channel so we must suffer the consequences. FOr instance tonight when I am watching Reign, it will have originally aired last Thursday night after The Vampire Diaries at 9pm on the CW. So most will watch tomorrow night and I will see that next week. That does not happen with The Vampire Diaries because M3 plays it Thursday night at 8pm just like the CW. So, if you have not already check out this promo video for Reign. I know with all the complaining I should not do as I have friends in the UK that didnt get to see episode 1 of Season 5 of The Vampire Diaries until October 29 when it aired in USA and Canada on October 3. I feel for you my friends but I am glad that you can all watch it now. Halloween was great, gave out candies this year to real kiddies (usually we didn’t have any visitors for the past 3 years lol) and Thanksgiving has passed for us. Remembrance is coming and after that the USA Thanksgiving and Christmas. Terrible on the 1st of November hearing Jingle Bells and my Halloween decoration were still u,lol. Have a great week ya’ll I am off to do my housewife/mom duties now, lol. Talk to ya’ll soon!

When I heard the news of the Boston Bombings on Monday April, 15, 2013 I was in shock, and dumbfounded!! First I cannot understand why someone would hurt and kill innocent people. Second, what can I do?I can/t leave to go physically help but here is something that you can do. Check out this link through RYOT News, they have all the information.
I am pleased to be able to pass along the information, which I got from a tweet by Ian Somerhalder!!! So, a big THANK YOU for that tweet, as it is going to help many people who require it.
First, I hope everyone had a great summer, and hope that you are settling into fall. Recently a majority of the cable television network has been premiering their pilots and I must say many new shows seem to have great potential. Go On, The New Normal and Animal Practice are 3 of the new pilots that i have seen and loved all three!!! The biggest problem is that many of the returning shows are showcased more than once a week. Die hard fans of those shows will miss out on some great television pilot seasons. For instance The Voice(NBC) is now on Monday's, Tuesday's and Wednesday's. Heart of Dixie(CW) has been changed from Monday nights to Tuesday night programming. New Girl(FOX) has returned to Tuesday night. Dancing With The Stars, All Stars(ABC) is on Monday and Tuesday at 8pm. These are just a couple of examples of how we as TV viewers will have to choose what we really want to watch. This season I know that favorites such as Game of thrones, Modern family, Sons of Anarchy, Madmen, Boardwalk Empire, will be some of the shows battling it out with reality TV such as American Idol, X-Factor, Project Runway, Survival, The Amazing Race, The Voice, America's Got Talent etc….
However, if you have a PVR then you are lucky and this does not mean anything to you. As for myself, I do NOT own a PVR so, I watch only a select few shows as it seems once I get into a new show, it gets cancelled. This has happened with both The Secret Circle, and The Playboy Club last year alone not to mention previous years!! So this year I am watching DVD's of series I thought I might like. So, I started with The Vampire Diaries(CW) and I am addicted! In a matter of a month I have watched seasons 1 and 2 in their entirety and half of season 3. I have read 8 of the books and continue to read them. If it were not for The Secret Circle and reading the books I would have not known about The Vampire Diaries. In Canada CW is not on cable TV however, CTV Two does broadcast The Vampire Diaries. I am excited that I will be able to watch Season 4 on my television set!! I am hoping that if you have not yet seen the Vampire Diaries Season 4 trailer to watch it now, here.Enjoy!
This movie has been given a rating of R (restricted in the U.S.A.) however, here in Ontario, Canada we gave it a PG-13(parental guidance ages 13+). I am happy that in Ontario we wish to have our children see this film as it should be viewed by them and their families. Generates debate and discussion. Funny, The Hunger Games has the same PG 13+ rating in the USA, being a movie based on Suzanne Collins book depicts starving children competing against each other by killing each other off. I have NOT seen the movie but I have read the first book. It is a Youth categorized book but it is very graphic and involves romance. I would have given the movie a PG 13+ rating if less violence was involved. Again, this is based on the reviews I have read from fans of the trilogy and renown critics. I just want people to see this movie specifically children who are 13+!! The more awareness that is brought to the issue the better we can solve and involve kids in a solution and programs to assist kids being bullied. With an R rating in the USA it makes it harder for them to see it.
After being a smoker for 24 years of my life I have tried to quit many times in the past. Unfortunately I could not make it more than a week or two without a cigarette. I tried the nicotine patch, nicotine gum, lozenge’s, and the nicotine inhaler all being Nicotine Replacement Therapies also known as NRT’s. I found that while I was on the NRT’s that I craved a cigarette more often and I was quite irritable. Personally I think it is because I was still having the nicotine pumped into my veins and when I felt the urge to smoke I still had it in my blood stream. After speaking with other non smokers they noticed the same thing but some did successfully quit on these but eventually would need to quit them too after the 12 weeks. I also had tried Zyban a couple years ago and found that after about 3 weeks of being on it that I was feeling depressed and worse than when I did smoke. So, I stopped taking those and picked up a pack of cigarettes because I could smoke until I found a better way to help me cope. It would be 3-4 years before my most recent quit attempt.
During my 3 years in college I had done 2-3 different projects on smoking and its effects on people and their health. Knowing the health risks and the financial problems smoking causes I still continued to smoke. I want to be clear that I no longer chose to smoke; it had become a serious addiction. It consumed me on a day to day basis. A trip to the mall, library or grocery store would have me lighting up upon exiting the doors. On a good day I would only smoke a pack of king size smokes. However, on a really bad day or stressful day I would smoke upwards to 3 packs of cigarettes!! Where I live in Southern Ontario Canada a pack of cigarettes at that time cost $10.67/per pack!!I could not afford to smoke yet if I didn’t smoke I was the biggest bitch on earth to everyone including my children, so smoking seemed to be easier than trying not to. The worst part is that all of my friends who are smokers and the non smokers had absolutely no faith in my capability to quit as they had seen me fail previously and thought that this time would be the same. This made it very difficult as I had next to no support.
This past summer I had visited with a friend who used to be a heavy smoker and is also a nurse. In her field it is frowned upon to be a smoker but she simply could not shake the filthy habit. She let me know that June had been 3 years since she quit, cold turkey. I was so proud of her and envious as well. It was hard for her but she watched her mother die of lung cancer 3 years prior and decided that was it for her, she was not going to leave her kids in the same boat. I was in awe how she was able to have such control and quit cold turkey!! We talked about it, then after my visit in early September it was all I could think about.
So, I went to my doctor a week or two after my visit to my BFF. I was wheezing really badly and you could hear gurgling in my chest. So, I asked my doctor what I can do to quit as I knew that was going to come up. So he prescribed me Champix, this drug is not an NRT. This medication blocks the nicotine receptor in the brain. You smoke for the first 10-14 days just like Zyban. The first immediate difference that I found was that after about 5 days of taking it I could no longer taste my smokes. I mean nothing, it was like I was smoking air and if I chain smoked to get the “rush” smokers get, it made me feel sick. So, after 5 days I quit smoking. I still got withdrawal symptoms they just were not as severe as when you go cold turkey.
Also, the day I started on the medication I found a great website to assist in my quit www.livestrong.com. Not only would the site help but they have an app for the iPhone called my Quit Coach for people who are quitting, thinking of quitting and those who have quit a while ago. What an amazing community!!! This was defiantly the component I had missed in past attempts of quitting. Total strangers were encouraging me on my quit and helping me make it through my toughest days and weeks and months!! We would later on decide to unite on Google Plus as well and I speak to them daily. I still go to the app everyday to post my budget of 0 smokes and 0 smoked. The app also has a cut down feature as well with a budgeted amount of smokes and then you enter when you are having a craving and when you smoked. This I found helped me dramatically, as there were people who had smoked as long as I had and were not condescending towards me and my goals. I found that I could talk to these people about anything and everything. You can go online at any time and because the app is worldwide, there was always someone there to help you make it through the craving. I learned a lot of people fail their first few quits (but not always) and regardless we were still there to help those who had slipped off the wagon get back on. It helps you feel normal as well with the feelings and emotions you are going through. To hear you are NOT CRAZY this is just part of the recovery process is music to any addicts ears!!
As of today I am 126 days free of cigarettes and I love my new life!! See, I started when I was young (10 years old) and I never had a healthy life. I was either overweight or a heavy smoker. I never exercised except a short walk here and there and still then I needed to smoke to whole time. I learned that when you quit smoking you must be prepared for a lifestyle change. This is something that I had not done in past quit attempts and I strongly believe that it had a huge impact. As well, I had to eat now when I was hungry. I could not just have a smoke and it would temporarily go away. So, I started eating properly and working out. Now, 4 months later I can not only jog but also run outdoors and on a treadmill. I have more energy than ever and I feel amazing!!
A few weeks into my quit I purchased an electronic cigarette. Now I have seen these online for $75.00-120.00!! I purchased mine for $30.00(now they can be purchased for only $15.00 at my local mall). There is no nicotine in it just a water vapour that resembles smoke. You can inhale it just like a smoke but it tastes far worse than real cigarettes in my opinion. So, I used it a few times when I had to drive in the car but soon realised that I had no use for it. I am glad because it really does not stop the habit and in the end that is what you are trying to do when you quit. Now, I am not going to say that it was easy but I was ready this time. I was better prepared; I knew my triggers from past experiences where I had failed to quit. I had documented them and came up with things I could do to combat them should they arise. I also had to quit anything that I had associated with smoking. For me that meant no more coffee, alcohol, bars, etc for at least the first few weeks or so. I still do not drink coffee because it now makes me very jittery after just a cup. As for the alcohol I have no use for it but if I should one day I am sure I will do just fine. I know that I am not out of the woods yet but I have never made it this far ever and I never want to turn back.
My clothes, skin, hair, house, car smell nice and pretty and the smell of smoke makes me nauseous and stings my nose. Could have something to do with the fact I am allergic but, I am not sure. I just want the world to know that if you really truly want to quit smoking you can!!I was one of those smokers who would find any reason to spark back up again but this time was so different. I have made friends with people all around the world and will continue these friendships hopefully forever. Speaking of friends the one supporter I did have was my BFF and even though she lives 2 hours away we text one another. She has been there for me since the first day I quit (which ironically was my 34th birthday!). She says she knew I could do it, just needed that little extra push. She beams with pride every time we talk or text and I tell her she was my inspiration to quit, and I wanted to be like her. Now I am, both of us are non smokers.
I also wanted to mention that my fiancé quit at the same time as me and that really helped me. I think that if he continued to smoke I probably would have never quit or would have slipped up. However, it was him who kept pressuring me to quit as we could not afford my habit nor his (he was a social smoker of about a pack a week in comparison to me). I am grateful that he did nag me to quit and that I finally did! We both celebrate monthly our progress but as for the money we saved, there is none. See, we could not afford it therefore money was being used from elsewhere. As for changing his excersing etc.. now that is not going to happen as he was active and healthy before I was not. So, this is all new to me. Also found a great site to set up goals and motivate you as well www.nikeplus.com it is a great site. I play tag with my other non smoking friends that I have met through my app and Livestrong. I am so glad I did this! I have another app called since I quit and it measures the time since you quit, money not spent on smoking and the smokes not smoked. My stats show that I have not spent $1785.00 and not smoked over 3569 cigarettes. Up until this point all the apps mentioned are free. I paid .99 for the My Last Cigarette app. This app shows lots of cool stats including the levels of carbon monoxide, nicotine, circulation, and cravings. There is also a menu where you can see the daily picture which is normally something or part of body affected by smoking (they are not pretty but they do work) It also shows how much time you have added to your life since you quit. Not to mention the amount of smoking related deaths since you quit! So, I have added 14 days and 6 hours to my life this far. Over 1,215,125 people have died due to smoking related deaths globally in 126 days that I have quit. Overall this app has made me realise that there were many ailments to my unhealthy smoker life that I had no idea of. I am hoping that the government will start paying for programs to help people quit because as a smoker I had no clue! I just smoked to deal with stress but in the end I found out from an amazing book called The Easy Way To Stop Smoking by Allan Carr that it is psychological B.S. that we are fed and brainwashed. This book also helped me to quit this time even though I had read it before. It seemed to make more sense this time. By going to my Quit Coach app even now I try to help others by giving them support in their quit. I know how important that was to me and want to pay it forward to others who are in the same boat.
Now, if you are a smoker and need some encouragement or reason(s) on why to quit then I have found a website for you!!! It helped me to see that I needed to quit and what would happen if I didn’t. It is not for the faint of heart but it is the truth and it works. www.whyquit.com it is also a great recourse. Now, there are many different sites online and depending where you live there are lots of resources. I have wanted to blog about this for quite some time but I wanted to make sure I was far enough into my quit that I would not post it then smoke and it would all mean nothing in my head. I am glad I waited to post this blog and with us being only a month into 2012 and with resolutions maybe I can help someone this way too. I am also planning to do a 10km jog/run at the end of April 2012 and I hope that I can get people involved and running themselves.
I found that it was getting harder to smoke in public and with our new laws here in Canada it was getting harder. Seems society understands smoking is bad and does not want smoke in their restaurants, bars, donught shops etc, to the point where the government banned smoking in those places 7-8 years ago. A few years back they ruled that you can no longer smoke in the car with a child under the age of 16years or else big fine and demerit points as well would be deducted. The government had to explain that 3rd hand smoke is just as bad if not worse than 2nd hand smoke is to children and non-smokers. The warnings on the cigarette packs have gotten bigger too. Prices have gone up and will continue to rise but the worse of it is the government is still raking in the money and profiting from people dying. In Canada in our hospitals, most of them are crowded with smokers and ex-smokers with illnesses and diseases yet the government keeps making them and profiting. This is a main reason why I believe they should also pay for smokers to get smoking cessation aids to help them quit as they are fuelling the fire. Not to mention that my cessation, Champix was $72.00 every two weeks. I have drug coverage but the problem is all cessations are NOT covered.
In a society where there are so many risks of dying I decided I no longer wanted to risk my life for my children and mostly for myself. I will keep you updated but I plan on adding some new pages on healthy living and eating and new technology gadgets and gizmos.
This year is going to be amazing!!Stay strong and remember that you are your biggest critic, be easy on yourself, you only live once.
Ciao for now!
So I am sure you have all heard that on October 31,2011 Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from Kris Humphries citing "Irreconcilable differences". I am positive that I was not the only one who knew it would not last. There are a few reasons why it only lasted 72 days in my opinion. First, Kim is a spoiled Brat!!!She only cares about herself and her career so how can she take care of her husband if she doesn't care about him? 2nd a marriage is about making compromises, giving and taking yet she seems to only take take take and when she gives(its either money or sex) it gets thrown in his face that he's a bum! This was Kim's 2nd marriage, in January 2000 she eloped to Las Vegas, and married Damon Thomas when she was only 19 years old. I believe she eloped becasue he mother Kris Jenner did not approve of him(or any other guy on the planet). They would split three years later, in 2001. According to the court documents filed Damon had punched her in the face, slammed her up against walls and throw her across the room, leaving her bruised up and extremely battered. He also gave her $3,650 to get liposuction because he wanted her to be perfect and didn't like her lips(wonder if he paid for her butt too??). Damon then gave her an additional $1,000 for further surgery. What kind of and marries you and then says your ugly here is some money go get some plastic surgery? Until today I did not know she had previously been married becasue of the way she carried on with her wedding having to be so "Fabulous" and "Fairy Tale Like". I really thought that it was her first wedding. For the past few weeks rumors have swirled online that they were fighting all the time and that she told him "I think it's time you stop mooching and get a job"! That is the meanest thing that I have ever heard! I would not say that to an enemy let alone the man/woman I am supposed to spend the rest of my life with, you know till death do we part not till I am bored with you and realize you cannot be brainwashed into being my mindless minion. How is she going to keep a marriage when she talks smack like that to her husband. Kris Jenner(her mother) persuaded the couple to get a prenuptial agreement(seems the whole family except for Kim's step-father Jenner thought he wanted her money) and so they did. So, that tells me that Kris Humphries was NOT in it for the money, even though Kim and her crazy ass sisters constantly said that to Kim and Kris. I used to watch Keeping Up With The Kardashians but lost interest shortly after season 1. See, I can't stand to watch these people(The Kardashians) flaunt their money with private jets here and there and liposuction everywhere, glamorous and ridiculous shopping sprees(when they already own everything under the sun or manufacture it) when there are people all over the world dying from starvation and diseases. It would be nice to see them help others instead of bickering with each other all the time! Regardless, another thing that bothered me is that watching an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, it was one of Kim's sister's birthdays and in the end there was a fight, some drama(as usual) and then this was said to Kim "It's my birthday Kim, for once today is not about you, it's about me"! This tells me that this is something that has constantly gone on in this family and that becasue they have money Kim has always gotten everything given to her, or she throws a temper tantrum and then get's what she wants anywyas! Someone needs to explain to this liposuction filled brat that you can't always get what you want!! Even though she seems to!! She needs a rude awakening!! In all of this I feel really sorry for Kris Humphries who was quoted yesterday saying "I had no idea she was filing for divorce and I will/would do anything to work on the marriage to make it work!"Kris must have been raised with parents that passed on values and morals unlike the Kardashians. I think that if Kim just for one minute stopped being her bratty self maybe just maybe she could see that she is hurting him and his family! Who the hell is going to want to be hubby number 3? Will she ever be happy? I don't think so unless she can clone herself and marry the clone as it seems she only loves herself! Marriages take work as most relationships do but she didn't want to stick around once things weren't all whistles and bells. The honeymoon period or phase is not even over yet(usually 3-6 months after the wedding) she could not even make it 3 months!!!. Most married couples start to feel anxious at that point realizing that they are married and this is what it will be like…forever(or until divorce as it seems so common now). I can understand her being afraid of a man turning into someone like her 1st ex-husband Damon but she needs to grow up! She is over 35 now (which puts her in a dangerous category for having children) she will be a 2 time divorcee with a career stemmed from parents fame and a leaked sex tape. She apparently wants to have children when she is done with her career, so when will that be? Or will she go the easy way and use her money and adopt a child for the nanny to raise(not that I think that's what all celebrities do but she seems the type to do that, sorry Kim) Divorce is so common now that people all over the world had bets running how long they would last as a married couple. I can't wait to see this seasons show that her sisters have. Apparently from clips I have seen online and snip-its Cloe accuses Kris of only being in it for the glitz and glamor and also repeats this to Kim. This all happens before the wedding does!! That should have been some serious red flags for both Kris and Kim! As well Kris says "I don't want to end up like Omar and Scott not having a say in anything". That tells me he has a head on his shoulders and I am glad to say I hope he finds true love, considering she has ripped him apart!! I think she did the wedding as a entertainment stunt to get the ratings up higher on the show, why else would you have 2 weddings and film only 1? If you were going to film the wedding why not do it the first time instead of dishing out more cash to flaunt an extravagant wedding all for T.V? Ugh! She makes me sick I swear! There are people out there who actually look up to her? She was seen out at a Halloween party without Kris or her wedding ring dressed up in the sluttiest Poision Ivy outfit I have ever seen(made for porn movies in my opinion) and when asked where Kris was she replied "Oh, he's in Minnosota". 72 days later eh? Kris screw it, don't try to work nothing out, just grab your things and RUN!!!! You can find a better woman(shes only a girl playing the part of a woman) who will treat you and your ideas well. I htink it is ironic that as soon as the magazines and the tabloids stop reporting about the weddings and the details of them that now again she is back in the tabloids and newspapers for filing newspapers. She must love eating this stuff up!! Must be all for the ratings.
As many of you are aware today is Thanksgiving for us Canadians! So let me start by wishing everyone a Happy Gobble Gobble!! Now, I had my dinner on Sunday so we all had a day to recuperate from the turkey Overdose!lol! Funny thing is for hours you cook in the kitchen preparing a great meal and then you clean it for the next several hours!!! It seems that as technology advances no one has been able to come up with gadgets to make entertaining easier and quicker with the times. Our portable walkmans from the 1980's are small little Ipods or MP3 players. Yet, not one single genius has come up with an easier way to make a dinner feast? WOW! Technology should evolve a little bit more towards the kitchen and the bathroom and the laundry, the list could be endless!! I guess someday maybe my grandchildren will get that type of technology. Either way, I find it comical that we now have 3D televisions and laptops the size of novels and nothing further developed in the kitchen. Ron Popeil has made great inventions but nothing I personally would want. lol. You can bet the person who invented the Bounce dryer bar knew that it would sell. Think of it as a dryer sheet you forget about and replace once every couple months. That saves on lint sheets all over the place and my time and energy remembering to put them in the dryer. With any luck someone will put their thinking cap on and remember that I said we need help in the kitchen! Oh right, almost forgot about the dishwasher. What the hell is the point? You practically wash them before we put them in and almost always need to dry them when they come out! We need someone to invent like the technology of the Jetsons, Hanna Barbara cartoon! We can have food is seconds and haircut machines, with robot maids etc……Now that the turkey is wearing off from yesterday I must get to my homework assignment. I have been putting it off all week-end and must get to it immediately. Have a great week and i wish everyone a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
